Beth and family - so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. Had much respect and liking for Charlie.
Charlie is the reason for my hair cut. Circa 2004, funding raising was underway for a new wing of the Stettler Recreation Centre - for a pool, I believe. My Q14 Radio morning show crew - Dave Duncan and Dan Chabot -set up a fund raiser with the promise that if they received $5,000 in pledge by February 22nd at 8 am, they would have their heads shaved. I later joined in by stating that if a total of $10,000 was pledged I too would have my head shaved. On the morning of February 22nd, around 7:45 am Charlie called Q14 and went on the air with Dave. Charlie asked how much had been pledged thus far. I believe it was just over $5,000 at that point. Charlie then pledged another $5,000 and added that he wanted to see "Garrison bald". Little did he know that this new hair cut would be my standard cut going forward. Being bald meant that all of the hair care that I normally did - using shampoo, conditioner, and hair spray - went out the door by being bald. It was so very easy to look after my hair this way that I just continued on with it. Thanks Charlie! Thanks too for your long time support of Q14 Radio, and of the Stettler Lightning Junior Hockey Club! Rick Garrison

Sending my deepest sympathy for the loss of such a unique man.
I had the privilege of getting to know Charlie when I worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Stettler many years ago. I so remember Charlie telling me about the crazy, amazing holidays you both would take with another couple(sorry can’t remember their names). Charlie told me how you all would go to the airport and go on standby to get the next flight out, where you all went was yet to be seen. I can only imagine where you all went on holidays. I can still see and hear Charlie laughing at my till telling about your holidays.
I can only imagine the wonderful memories you must have of the years you have shared.
I pray these memories will help you to carry on without your Husband, Father, Grandpa and Friend.
Stay strong, i feel Charlie would want you and the family to carry on making amazing memories.
Keeping you all in my prayer's.
.

Russell called me today to inform of his Dad’s passing . I met Charlie in 1995 & have been working with him ever since .
Charlie was one of the finest Electricians I was priveledged to work with .
I always enjoyed chatting with Charlie when he would call to discuss an upcoming job & how Code requirements might affect it .
He had an infectious personality & it’s great to see that Russell has been the recipient of his vast knowledge & his always cool demeanor.

So saddened to hear today of Charlie's passing. Although I never knew Charlie well, I spoke with him on phone very often over years when he called our office at IJD Inspections to enquire about permits. I always enjoyed talking with Charlie, his wicked sense of humor and, of course, his "Sam Elliot' voice was not at all hard on the ears! He will be sorely missed.
My sincerest and deepest condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear this.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family during this time of great sorrow.
Charlie and I had a very unique relationship with professional, business and personal facets of our lives.
He will be greatly missed, as well as the coffee and “yakking” sessions.
