Murray Allan Rairdan

“Al”

March 5, 1948 ~ January 19, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Al Rairdan announce his passing on January 19, 2025 at the age of 76 years.

Al grew up in Stettler, Alberta on Liberal Road.  Although he loved farming with his family, he also pursued a different passion in Petroleum Engineering.  That’s how he met the love of his life of 51 years – Sheryl! They met in Oklahoma and fell madly in love.  It was through his Oil and Gas career that took him to many places and countries around the world.

They lived overseas in Singapore for several years before Al convinced Sheryl to move to Stettler where they built their acreage and welcomed their two children Tim and Angela.

As a family they loved going on their annual ski trip to Panorama and spending the summers at their campground at Ol’ MacDonalds and going on vacations throughout the years.

Al continued to farm with the family and work in Oil and Gas until he retired and wintered away in Arizona where he loved to golf, play cards, read books and do various arts and crafts.  Al loved joking around with his buddies and enjoyed good food and never missed a happy hour.

Al will be missed by all that knew him.

Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sheryl of 51 years; daughter Angela (Nick Flanders) Rairdan; grandchildren: Darielle, Ryken and Brady Rairdan; great granddaughter Ayla Rairdan; brother Jack (Martha) Rairdan; sister Judy Moore; brother-in-law Michael (Deloras) Theys; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Al was predeceased by son Tim Rairdan; parents Murray and Eileen Rairdan; brother Scott Rairdan; and parents-in-law Eugene and Alma Theys.

A Celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2025.

Memorial Donations may be made the Canadian Blood Services, 5020 68th Street #5, Red Deer, Alberta T4N 7B4 or to a charity of your choice.
