Obituary of Peter Walter
Peter Walter
October 26, 1939 ~ June 19, 2025
Peter Walter was born on October 26th, 1939, in Cardston Alberta, to parents Peter and Sarah Walter. He lived a single life up to his passing. In the mid 70's, Pete and his family moved to Valleyview Alberta, where he primarily worked in a dairy barn.
In July of 1991, Pete committed to serving the Lord at Hythe Alberta. Following that, he moved to be near his brother Josh and for a brief time, he worked at the Cameron family farm near Hughenden, Alberta. Shortly after, Pete moved to the Donalda area where he began working as a full-time farm hand at Edgeview Farms for the Ericksons. He had a passion for operating farm equipment and did that up until his retirement.
Even though Pete lived on his own without his immediate family nearby, the many friends in the Donalda and Stettler area welcomed Pete with open arms and treated him like a brother where he soon became part of a much bigger family. The Erickson’s, Massey’s and local friends often included him on trips, vacations and special occasions which he very much enjoyed.
Pete was steady and faithful over the years and made the effort to attend fellowship and special meetings, conventions, and Gospel services. Even though, in his later years, when navigating the roads became difficult and getting lost along the way, Pete still made it a priority to get to conventions. When he wasn’t capable to drive anymore, we thank those that helped Pete get to meetings. It was evident of what he truly loved and had in his heart.
After working at Erickson's, Pete moved into Willow Creek Lodge in Stettler and lived there until his passing. He spent his time doing puzzles, walks outside (he was often seen walking the sidewalks around the lodge), mingling with residents, and taking donuts and coffee to the field during harvest just to name a few.
On behalf of Pete, the Walter family would like to sincerely thank the many friends in the Donalda and Stettler area that cared and made time for him, even when his health started to decline. Also, a special thanks to all the staff at Willow Creek Lodge as well as the staff at the Stettler Hospital.
Pete will be missed, he was loved by many. Thank-You.
Peter is survived by sisters Katie, Mary (Darius), Elisabeth and Sarah; brothers Joshua (Matilda), Martin (Becky) and John; numerous nieces and nephews and their families, as well as many friends.
Peter is predeceased by his parents Pater and Sarah Walter; brothers Paul and Joe Walter; sisters Sarah and Magdeline Walter.
