Tyrrill Ross Elvin Hewitt

November 29, 1955  ~  July 10, 2025

Tyrrill Hewitt of Castor Alberta, loving husband of Cheryl Hewitt, passed away peacefully at Coronation Hospital the morning of July 10th, 2025, at the age of 69 years.

He was born in Castor, Alberta to his loving parents James Hewitt and Francess Hewitt. He attended school in Brownfield and Castor.

He was a jack of all trades; farmer, working in construction, plumbing, oilfield and serving as a county councilor at the County of Paintearth for 29 years.

Growing up he was always helping his father on the farm. He enjoyed playing baseball, playing on the pool tables during school hours, and was an active member of the Cadets. Which led him to his first love, his plane; Kit. He met his second love Cheryl Hewit, his loving wife of 31 years. They had four children, Matthew, Samantha, James and John whom he loved very much. He served as a board member for the Coronation Seed Cleaning Co-op (25 years), Victim Services, the Paintearth Lodge, FCSS, the Battle River Research Group, Castor Housing Authority, RMA and the school board.

Tyrrill was a great man who tried making decisions that he believed would benefit everyone around him instead of just himself. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and community.

Tyrrill is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Hewitt; son Matthew (Darcie) Jordahl; daughter Samantha (Rhett Winter) Hewitt; son James Hewitt; son John Hewitt; sister Allisson (Rodney) Lang; brother Lorne (Blanche) Hewitt; brother Lennard (Laurie) Hewitt; many nephews and nieces and many, many great nephews and nieces.

Tyrrill was predeceased by his father James Hewitt; mother Francess Hewitt; mother-in-law Betty Jordahl; brother-in-law Allan Jordahl; sister brother-in-law Jackie (Tom) Schmidt and brother-in-law Richard Jordahl.
