Obituary of Richard George Hand

Richard passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on July 24, 2025 at the palliative care room at the Stettler Hospital & Care Centre. Richard was a kindhearted person. He loved to make people smile and laugh. Richard liked to help people however he could. Throughout his life, Richard had many family pets, mostly dogs and cats.

Richard is survived by his daughters Marie (Francis) Gladue and April (Kelly) Davis; granddaughter Katt (Tyler) Gibson; grandson Harley Davis; four great grandchildren: Daniel Davis, Rhett Gibson, Bailey Davis and Rylee Gibson. Sisters: Faye Tennant, Elaine McCrindle, Sharon (Ken) Chitwood; brother Orville (Wanda) Hand; brothers-in-law: Roger (Jayne) Bauer, and John Maybroda, and sister-in-law Marilyn (Don) Keeler. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his wife Shirley Hand; parents Samuel and Lillian Hand; brother Robert Hand and wife Shirley Hand; sisters Ruth Petrunka and husband Dave Petrunka and sister Doreen Maybroda; brothers-in-law Bill Tennant, Gary McCrindle and John Bauer.
