95 Wonderful Years – A Life to Celebrate

With hearts full of love, we remember and celebrate the extraordinary life of Shirley O’How, who lived 95 amazing years filled with family, friendship, laughter and adventure.

Shirley is lovingly remembered by her sons; Cliff (Carolyn), Terry (Marilyn), Darcey (Karen), and by daughter-in-law Peggy (predeceased by son, Bruce). She was the proud grandmother of Tracey Caseley (Bill), Corey (Michelle), Taren Trew (Brad), Curan, Jemma, and Keira, and a cherished great-grandmother to seven. She also leaves behind a large extended family and many dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Throughout her life, Shirley embraced many roles with grace and strength: devoted daughter, caring sister, beloved wife to Jack (married in 1949), proud mother of four boys, fun-loving aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Above all, she was a true and loyal friend.

The Many Faces of Shirley

Shirley’s life was as vibrant as her spirit. She never stopped learning, earning a sharpshooting medal as a cadet, and later farming, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and crafting. A talented baker, her buns and flapper pies were legendary. She loved to travel—whether to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Mexico, the Maritimes, or Toronto to cheer on the Blue Jays—and she was a passionate sports fan, especially for the Oilers and curling.

Shirley’s kindness, warmth, and zest for life left an unforgettable mark on everyone she met. She lived fully, gave generously, and found joy in simple and grand moments alike.

95 Amazing Years… a life truly worth remembering and celebrating!
