Please share a memory of Gweneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Gweneth (Gwen) Audrey Marie Coppock

November 1, 1927 ~ December 5, 2025

Gweneth Audrey Marie Pigeon was born in Castor, Alberta on November 1, 1927. She was first loved by her parents (Charles and Kathleen Pigeon) and her siblings on their farm northeast of Castor in the Beaver District. Her early school days were at Beaver School, a one room schoolhouse for grades 1 to 9. To attend high school, Gwen moved to Castor and boarded at the convent. Her first job was working at the Castor Hospital as a nurse’s aide.  Later, she moved to Stettler and worked at McTaggert Motors.

In 1952, Gwen married Doug Coppock. They lived for a short time in Hazlett, SK while Doug was working as a surveyor, but soon they returned to the Beaver District and the Coppock family farm where they began building their life and raising their 4 children.   They worked hard but always found time for fun.

After Doug’s passing in 1992, Gwen continued living at the farm until she retired in 1995 and moved to Castor to enjoy golfing, gardening, travelling, book club and bridge parties but most importantly watching her grandchildren play sports. She loved to entertain and everyone was always welcome at Gwen’s table.

As Gwen lived in life, she passed with grace and dignity on Dec 5, 2025 surrounded by the love of family.

Gwen can now join Doug, her parents Kathleen and Charles Pigeon and siblings: Yvonne (Bill) Hnatiuk, Phillip (Helen) Pigeon, Elaine (Otto) Kneller, parents in law Pearl and Harold Coppock, sister in law Marilyn (Art) Doray and her many friends that have waited patiently for her to arrive.

Gwen is survived by her four children: Jane (Aldo) DeLuca, Bette (Leonard) Hagen, Kaye (Leonard) Hauck and Tom (Wendy) Coppock, as well as being blessed with eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Rest well Mom. Thanks for being the role model you were for your family.
