In Loving Memory of Keith Turner

June 20, 1942 – June 16, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, the family of Keith Turner announces his passing on June 16, 2026, just four days before his 84th birthday.

Keith spent most of his life in Castor, Alberta, where he was known as a talented mechanic, a devoted family man, and a steady, familiar presence in the community. He loved golfing, tinkering with his cherished 1971 Chevrolet C10, and spending time with the people who mattered most to him.

In his younger years, Keith was an athlete and a passionate car enthusiast. In 1960, he married Karen Elaine Patterson, and together they raised four children:

• Darrel Turner (Wendy Turner)
• Brian Turner
• Kevin Turner (Tammy Turner)
• Tammy Walker (Clint Walker)

While raising his family, Keith was always present, driving the boys to the rink, coaching hockey, and helping shape countless young players. Many in the community will remember Keith and his friend Bill Dyke carting boys from arena to arena, creating memories that lasted a lifetime.

Keith, his brother Don, and their father Gilbert opened a service station on Highway 12 before later moving to Main Street, where they operated Grand Ave Service Station. Keith owned and operated the business for 35 years before selling to Jordahl Enterprises. His work ethic, honesty, and skill made the shop a cornerstone of the community.

In retirement, Keith enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time with family. After Karen’s passing, he met Delores Woodrow, and together they spent nine wonderful years traveling the world and making cherished memories.

Keith will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, gentle nature, quiet humor, and the deep love he held for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed, and his memory will be treasured by all who knew him.

Keith was predeceased by his beloved wife Karen, his parents Ester and Gilbert, his brother Donnie, and his sister Donna. He is survived by his sister Helen Wollman, his children Darrel (Wendy), Brian, Tammy (Clint), and Kevin (Tammy), as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great‑grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital, especially Dr. Hanton, and to the doctors and nursing staff at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, who worked so courageously to save Keith.

Celebration Of Life

Keith will be laid to rest in the Gadsby Omega Cemetery.

Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital or the Dementia Society. The family would be forever grateful.
