Richard “Dale” Young passed away on June 26, 2026 in Stettler, Alberta. Dale was born on July 17, 1935 to Anna and Percy Young of Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He attended school in Stewart Valley and moved with his family to Central Butte in 1945.

In 1971, Dale went home to Central Butte and there he met family friend, Pauline Schultz. They married in April 1972 and their daughter Audra was born the next year in November. The following year, they purchased their own mixed grain and cattle farm near Red Willow where they ranched until 1995.

Dale raised Registered Hereford cattle and participated in the Stettler Bull Show and Sale for many years. They retired to Stettler and were longtime members of the St. Peter Lutheran congregation where Dale served on church council for several terms.
