Marie (née Hepp) Jackson

July 17, 1928 ~ July 6, 2026

Marie Jackson was born on July 17, 1928 in Castor, Alberta to Frank and Elizabeth Hepp. She was the oldest child followed by three sisters and four brothers. Marie grew up on the family farm eight miles north in the rural community of Lauderdale. Being the oldest in the family, she was very helpful in assisting her parents with household and farm chores. She attended Lauderdale School and then moved to Castor where she completed high school and graduated from Theresetta.

On June 14, 1949, she married Arnold Jackson. Together they managed a mixed farm. From this union, they had seven children: Karen, Darlene, Ken, Bruce, Mary Ann, Patricia and Glen. Through the years, Marie always had a large garden that produced a bounty of vegetables that could be canned or stored for the winter months. Apple trees, raspberry and gooseberry bushes were added to the garden work. Marie was a loyal lifelong, member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was also deeply involved in the Stettler Handicapped Association and held many executive positions at the Golden Circle.

Marie is survived by her children: Karen (Bob) Baptie, Darlene Berry, Ken (Sandi) Jackson, Bruce Jackson, Mary Ann (Rick) Noack, Patricia (Jim) Wiechnik and Glen Jackson; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; sister Ethel Zinger, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marie was predeceased by her husband Arnold; infant daughter; infant grandson Cole; son-in-law Glen Berry; parents Frank and Elizabeth Hepp; siblings Barbara-Anne Bouma, Marvin Hepp, Doris Ried, Melvin Hepp, Ken Hepp and Clarence Hepp.
