Michelle Kathleen Pinder (Baer)

October 9, 1948 - July 11, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Michelle, Mom, Mitch, Nana. Michelle was born on October 9th, 1948 in Calgary, AB and passed surrounded by family July 11, 2026 in Calgary, AB at the age of 77.

Michelle grew up in Calgary and attended Western High School.  Afterwards, she had worked at CIGOL where she met the love of her life, Scott.  They have four children: Ryan, Michael (Megan), Stephen (Leslie), and Melissa (Tim).  They moved to Stettler in 1983 where Michelle was a stay-at-home mom until she became a school bus driver for Clearview, and then also a marriage commissioner for Central Alberta.  She loved these jobs deeply and later in the years It made her day when the kids that once rode her bus would call her to do their wedding. 

Michelle loved reading, making door wreaths, having coffee with all her friends, and teaching herself how to renovate parts of the house.  The thing she loved the most though, was being a Nana.  Her grandchildren: Rayden (Ashley), Taylor, Zach (Erin), Wil, Mya, Jacob, Madilynn, Maisie, Bailey (Wyatt), Gavin and Liam were her real joys.  She loved watching them grow and made each of them feel like they could go out and conquer the world. We would love to give an extra thank you to her granddaughter Taylor who helped Michelle so much during this last year. We will be forever grateful.

Michelle is not only leaving behind her love, Scott, her children, and her grandchildren, but her siblings: Daniel Baer (Deb), Bob Baer, Jane Baer (Steve), and Russell Baer. Also her brothers-in-law Blair Pinder (Lynn) and Neil Pinder (Joanne), sister-in-law Cherie Pinder (Bill) as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, godchildren and many friends.

Michelle was predeceased by her parents Gloria and Victor Baer, birth father Robert Doran, her in-laws Helen and Roy Pinder, and her grandparents, Blanche “Speedy” (Hess) and Leonard “Lucky” Lindsay.
