Obituary for Sheryl ("Sherry") Anne Dobbie

It is with profound sadness that the family of Sheryl ("Sherry") Anne Dobbie announces her passing on July 28, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, on March 20, 1950, Sherry lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, strength, and an unwavering love for her family. She began her family life in St. Albert, Alberta, where she created many cherished memories, before eventually making Stettler, Alberta her home for the last 30 years

.

Sherry will be remembered not only for the many lives she touched, but for the unique personality and character that made her truly one of a kind.

For many years, Sherry worked as a bus driver, a role that reflected her caring and dependable nature. She formed close relationships with the children she drove, becoming more than just a driver. She was someone they knew they could count on. Her kindness, patience, and genuine interest in their lives left a lasting impression on many of the students and families she served.

Sherry had a lifelong love of sports and enjoyed the excitement, competition, and friendships they brought into her life. Whether skiing, golfing or fishing with her family and friends, umpiring high-level softball, or cheering on athletes during the Olympics, sports were a meaningful part of who she was. Her competitive spirit, passion, determination, and enthusiasm carried through in all aspects of her life.

Those who knew Sherry will remember her for her warm heart, loyalty, and wonderful sense of humour. She had a quick wit and a dark but lovable sense of humour that could catch people off guard, bring laughter to any situation, and leave those around her smiling. Her honesty, strength of character, and unmistakable personality made her someone people could never forget.

Sherry was predeceased by her father, Eugene ("Bud") Anderson, and her mother, Joan Anderson.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Keith; her sons, Craig and Chris (Christine); her cherished grandchildren, Brett, Ella, and Alix; and her nieces, LeeAnn and Lynnel. Her family was the center of her world, and the love, guidance, and memories she shared with them will continue to live on.

Though her passing leaves a tremendous void, Sherry's legacy remains in the lives she touched, the laughter she shared, and the example she set through her kindness, determination, and spirit. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, former students, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family wishes to thank everyone who has offered their love, support, and condolences during this difficult time.
