Stanley Herbert Seaba was born in Castor, Alberta on July 18, 1929 to Earl and Jean Seaba. Stan was raised and lived his entire life on the Seaba farm, south of Castor. His early years were spent working on the farm and playing ball. He graduated from Sullivan Lake School then continued in his ancestors footsteps as a farmer and rancher. Stan married Karen Reuteman in 1968; together they had one son Earl born in 1976. Stan loved the farm, the cows, dogs, cats, flowers, birds and the garden. He was an avid auction sale participant and traveled many miles with his good friend Patricia to bring home all kinds of treasures; particularly tables, lamps and all kinds of tin cans. The pride and joy of Stan’s life was his granddaughter Taylor born in 2003. She always brought a sparkle to his eye. Stan passed away on January 12, 2015 in Castor at the age of 85 years. Stan was predeceased by his parents Earl and Jean and wife Karen. He is survived by his son Earl, daughter in law Tamara, granddaughter Taylor, special friend Patricia Andrews and many friends and neighbors. A funeral service for the late Mr. Stan Seaba was held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Evangelical Missionary Church in Castor with Pastors Jim Culham and Grant Sikstrom officiating. Loving memories of Stan were presented by Cheryl Klein. Nadene Wideman and Rosa Weber shared their gifts of music as Nadene accompanied on piano for the congregational hymns In The Garden and Amazing Grace and with Rosa Weber as she sang Now The Green Blade Rises. Following the service family and friends joined together for a time of fellowship and luncheon prepared and served by the Evangelical Missionary Ladies. Stan’s favorite treat of ice cream was also enjoyed at this time. Wade Klein, David Weber, Robert Gustavson, Dale Darnell, Clarence Grobel and Brian Fiss served as pallbearers as their friend was laid to rest in the Castor Municipal Cemetery beside his wife Karen. Donations in memory of Stan Seaba may be made to a charity of choice.
