Obituary of Joyce Arlene Heidt

Please share a memory of Joyce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Arlene (Joyce) Heidt passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years at Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital Long Term Care. Arlene was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan on June 19, 1935 to George and Hazel Missere. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and special, kind friend to many. Her smile brightened all our lives and she will be especially remembered for her strength, hard working nature and her loving, caring heart. Being a single mom was never easy but she made it fun with lots of adventures! She worked many years and always was a great friend to her co-workers. Her pastime was baking…her biscuits, cinnamon buns and pies were second to none. She loved tending her flowers and travelling with Walter in the summer, but as in all her life her real destination was always family. She was a great reader and loved to know what was happening in the world. Arlene loved family gatherings, just like Jigs and Hazel she was always good to go for a picnic, of course bringing one of her special recipes in arm to all the get togethers. She also loved going to the odd Casino and playing the machines in her later years. Arlene is predeceased by her husband Walter Heidt; parents George and Hazel Missere; brother Ray Missere. Arlene is survived by her three sons Aaron Johannes-Rosenberg (Gary), Alan Johannes (Carol), Bill Johannes and daughter Brenda Kneller (Allan); grandchildren Dwayne Kneller (Jamie), Kirsten Kneller (Robert), Steven Kneller, Zev Johannes-Rosenberg, Amanda Billet; great grandchildren Braden and Caleb Kneller; brother Jerry Missere; sisters Linda Sawatzky (Al) and Trudy Leary (Jay); three special sisters in law and great companions May Smith, Lynne Johannes and Evelyn Missere and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers, gifts of kind words. Thank you to Dr. Hanton and Dr. Murphy and the extended care staff that cared for Arlene for four years. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Kindersley, Saskatchewan …with a picnic! Donations will be gratefully accepted by Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital Foundation – Extended Care, Castor, Alberta or to a charity of your own choice.
