Obituary of Margaret Ann Ripley

On June 28, 2017 Margaret (Maggie) Anne Ripley passed away with her family by her side while at the Stettler Hospital at the age of 70 years. Maggie was born on October 13, 1946 in Red Deer, AB to William and Helen Wilson. She leaves behind to mourn her loss three children: Pamela (Darren) Hiron, Robbie (Tammy) Ripley, Angela (Rob) Richmond; her four beautiful granddaughters Taylor, Nikki, Hailie and Alexis who all were her sweet peas; six siblings; brothers in law and numerous nieces and nephews, other family and a host of many dear friends. Maggie was the second of eight children, Gail, Alice, Bob, Bonnie, Carol, Brenda and Finlay. Maggie grew up in different parts of Alberta, but loved her time in Delburne at her grandparent’s farm. In November of 1969 she married Robert Wynne Ripley and together they raised their three children: Pamela, Robert and Angela on their farm at Mirror. She loved gardening, baking bread and coffeeing with friends and neighbours. She played many sports as a young girl and was an active curler in the curling club and a member of the Ripley Ladies Club. Maggie was predeceased by her parents William and Helen Wilson; husband Robert; sister Brenda Schatschneider and brother in law Daniel Ripley. A celebration of Maggie’s life will take place on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Alix Community Hall with a luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions may be made in Maggie’s memory to the Red Deer SPCA Society or to S.T.A.R.S. Condolences may be left for the family by visiting the website www.stettlerfuneralhome.com.
