Obituary of Walter Edward Patterson

In Loving Memory Walter Patterson May 29, 1932 ~ June 28, 2017 Walter Patterson passed away June 28, 2017 in the company and compassionate care of friends and care givers at Heritage House. He was 85. Walter was born May 29, 1932 on a farm near Kitscoty to Jessie and Robert Patterson, brothers George, Robert and John ahead of him, sisters Janice, Alice, Violet and Isabella to follow, made them a very large family. Walter said “growing up on the farm was the best years of his life.” Those farm years also shielded the Patterson family from the harshness of the depression. Walter worked in Lloydminster, Chisholm and Westlock before retiring here in Stettler in 1992 with wife Elsie. In retirement Walter enjoyed travelling, fishing, camping, bike riding, and hobby wood working and was always available to lend a hand whenever he was asked. He leaves to mourn his special friends Ken and Shawna Sikstrom and Brian and Gail Peterson of Stettler, Alberta and the incredible staff of Heritage House; three brothers and three sisters; and a host of many dear friends. On behalf of Walter’s extended family, we wish to express their gratitude for your many kindnesses evidenced in thought, word and deed and for your attendance at the graveside service. Memorial donations may be made to Calgary Fire Fighters Burn Unit or a charity of your choice. There will also be refreshments and a get together at Heritage House Recreation Room to follow at 3:00 PM. All are welcome.
