She grew up in Big Valley, Alberta. After graduating high school, she got her first job at Alberta Treasury Branch. Later she was transferred to the main branch in Edmonton. They moved to Surrey BC in the 70’s and returned in 1984 to care for her father. In the mid 90’s Dorothy helped Norman to fulfill his dream of rebuilding the homestead at Scollard. Dorothy enjoyed playing the piano, accordion and singing, riding her bike, collecting dolls and sewing. In later years she read the Edmonton Journal and made notes to keep her memory sharp. She watched Faith to Live By and often shared the high notes of the service with others. Dorothy was a strong woman in a small package.
