FRANCES MAE WILSON

1927-2020

Frances Wilson passed away peacefully Nov.30, 2020 at Our Lady of the Rosary Continuing Care Facility in Castor, Alberta at the age of 93.

Frances Mae Wilson was born in Cereal, Alberta May 17, 1927, one of 7 children. She lived in Calgary for some time and also farmed in the Rimbey area. In 1969 moved to Pine Lake, Alberta to run the Shell Service Station. She then moved to Red Deer, Alberta where she lived for many years and worked in housekeeping. She then moved back to Rimbey, Alberta to retire with her two sisters.

She was never one to sit still very long. She loved to walk, walking miles every day. In the summers she loved taking care of her many flowers. She loved her stuffed bears and her beautiful doll collection.

Frances is survived by her one daughter Diana (Harold) Peters of Halkirk, AB;  3 grandchildren: Tammy (Stuart) Evans of Kangaroo Valley, Australia, Shanna (Steve) Bishell of Consort, Alberta, and Shawn Peters of Halkirk, Alberta; 7 great grandchildren: Jaycee Bond, Nerissa Evans, Emily, Kegan, and Nathan Bishell, Alexis Richmond, and Mackenna Peters; two brothers: Bill and Robert; as well as many dear friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers: Harold and Lestor Barton; two sisters: Mildred Anderson & Margaret Wilson and her son Glenn.

Frances (Fran, Grandma, Granny) will be remembered for her strong will, her love to tease and be teased back, her great cooking (especially cabbage rolls), her huge western movie collection that she built up over the years (John Wayne being her favorite), and her red hair. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

A huge thank you to all of the staff at Our Lady of the Rosary Continuing Care Facility in Castor for taking such great care of our Mom and Grandma.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Donations will be gratefully accepted to the Alzheimer Society or Alberta Cancer Foundation.  Sympathies may be forwarded to the family by signing the guestbook at www.parkviewfuneralchapels.com  Parkview Funeral Chapels & Crematorium, 403-578-3777, entrusted with the care and funeral arrangements.
