My deepest condolences to all the families related to Ernie...He was a wonderful Man and I am so blessed to have many great memories of him to hold in my head and heart! Thanks to Mark and Julie for including me into their family, which gave me this opportunity to discover Ernie’s remarkable character, and dedication to his loved ones and farm. Amazingly, almost all of my memories bring wonderful chuckles!

I arrived at the Petrussa farm in the summer of 1978 coming from a dairy farm in southwestern Ontario. I lived with Ernie in the old trailer and we shared a lot of laughs there and also working on the farm with Johnny and Carl Nemetz. Ernie showed me around the area including fun times at the Big Valley and Byemore hotels. We had a lot of good times playing cards with the neighbors around the area on some cold winter weekends. Ernie had an infectious laugh and always brought a smile to your face. I worked there for a year then returned home to farm. I've had the pleasure to visit Ernie a few times over the last 40 years and was very honored to be invited to the 100 year anniversary of Petrussa Farms. To Margaret and all the family members my deepest sympathy for the loss of Ernie but I will never forget the good times I had with him. Rick Merkel, St.Pauls Ontario.
