A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Parish and interment following in the Coronation Cemetery. The funeral service will also be live webcast and accessed by visiting www.parkviewfuneralchapels.com and clicking on Herman’s obituary.

Marcella & Family: Please accept my condolences on the passing of Herman. I so enjoyed his stories and contributions both on the PC board and whenever we saw him at a family function. He loved getting updates from me on Dillin and Chantelle's twins. He really did love knowing there were so many great grand children surrounding his family.

My sincere condolences go out to Marcella and family on the passing of our dear friend Herman. Distance prevented me from visiting but the once and my wife Wendy and I were treated like family on that occasion. It was an absolute honor and pleasure to have Herman rejoin our ATCO Electric CPC Committee while I served as chairman. His experience and insight in the matters at hand made our jobs a lot easier. He had chaired that committee in the past during difficult times. We always knew that after our noon break that Herman would sneak a nap at the meeting table but he always insisted that he never missed a word of the discussion while doing that. Tee hee. May you rest in peace my friend. Sincerely Alfred Johnson

Dear Marcella and all the family, I am so very sorry to hear of Herman's passing. He and I worked together for many years while he was on the Board's of the Coronation and Beaver REAs, the Alberta Federation of REA's and the ATCO Electric Joint & Contract Policy Committees. He taught me lots about the REA and the electric distribution system in Alberta. I really enjoyed working with him. Marcella, you have my deepest condolences. Dear Marcella and all the family, I am so very sorry to hear of Herman's passing. He and I butted heads more than once over his PrairieView Column in the ECA Review! At the end of it all there was a mutual respect and understanding. I appreciated Herman and the huge impression he made. I could see all the love he had for his family, his community, his province and his country. He was one of a kind and I know you will miss him dearly.
