The family of Joan and Gordon Brooker send sincerest sympathies to Kathy's family. Joan and Gordon (now both deceased) became friends of Ron and Kathy through shared interests and activities as they spent their winters in Arizona. They discovered a connection through Stettler. I (Judy Birdsell) whose roots are in Stettler married Joan and Gordon's oldest son Terry. Kathy had taught Judy in Stetter. Terry and I reconnected with Ron and Kathy in Phoenix many years ago when we attended a Sunday concert with Joan and Gordon. After the passing of Joan and Ron, Kathy and Gordon stayed in touch, through shared interests in golfing, Canadian football and sometimes travelling together to and from Arizona (for which Gordon's family was very grateful). Karen (JOan and Gordon's daughter who now owns the house in SUn Lakes with her husband Bob) remarked they had enjoyed many Grey Cup parties at Kathy's house! Kathy had all of the Brooker clan to her house when we were there six years ago when Gordon passed away. Indeed it was Kathy who arranged for a mutual friend to check on Gordon the day he died when he didnt' show up for a golf tee time at the age of 94! It was a special and valued relationship that Kathy had with the entire Brooker clan. The Stettler connection was a bonus, and we all have many special memories of the lovely person Kathy was and are very grateful for all the kindneses she showed to our family.
