Al Leinweber was one of the most naturally kind persons I ever knew. Never did he say an unkind word about anyone, and could always see the positive side of everything. When we did local theatre, Al was always in attendance with encouraging words about the performance, deserved or not! Forever smiling, despite the physical ills he courageously dealt with. Marvellous role model for us all.
Regrettably, we were away at a cousin's wedding in Ohio at the time of his memorial service, but our thoughts were with Al's fine family and myriad friends. He was indeed a marvellous man. One anyone would be proud to call "friend."

Mr. Leinweber was one of my favorite teachers. In later years when my husband and I would go to Stettler to help Mom & Dad, we would always see him at the A&W on Saturday morning … and he would greet Lorne if he was the first one of us that he saw. He always remembered his name, too! We send our condolences to the family!

Our Rose family was lucky enough to be able to share many special moments with Uncle Al and Auntie Verna. Auntie Verna was a sister to my dad Gordon Rose (Viney). My parents shared many great visits, memories and lots of laughs with them both. My own family was able to share the occasions often and they always made us feel welcome. There were many games played, meals shared. My mother Viney was known for her pie making and Uncle Al was often heard saying "well Viney, I just can't decide which flavor I would like, How about I have a little piece of all of them" .. and he would.
Uncle Al was a true gentleman and a kind soul.
He has been and will continue to be missed. May the Leinweber family share many memories with those that knew "Uncle Al"

Grandpa Al, I will miss you so very much. Your yearly letter updating me on the happenings/excitement in your world made not only the boys day but mine as well. You not only were Kayden's great-grandpa but you treated his two brothers the same, always included in the yearly "goodie package" . I have so many fond memories that I will hold dear to my heart. Sending all my love. Linsey

Sending my heartfelt sympathy to the Leinweber family---Remembering many times whether at school or at their home, or just out and about, as our families made Stettler home & a close community. Mr. Leinweber (still respectively) a man of professionalism & compassion, but also always patient, calm and kind and respective of others. Also, Trevor remembering how you helped myself & brother at the time of our parents passing, know that the people we have met, have touched us in ways we will never forget.
So may you and all the families be strengthened by the many precious memories and know how many also have memories of such a wonderful man.

"Community", "compassion", "professionalism", and also "touching lives" of others. All of which are qualities that Grandpa held very dear, and inspired within everyone who knew him. We are extremely grateful to be a part of his legacy.

Mr. Leinweber was by far my most favourite teacher! I took Accounting 10, 20 and 30 with him in my High School years. I never had an interest in Accounting, but he pushed me to continue and do my best. He was a superb teacher and a great listener. He is one of the reasons I chose to go into Education myself and have been teaching for the past 20 years. I want to send my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May he rest in peace. Such a wonderful person.

My sincere sympathy to Al’s family and his many dear friends!
Al was a great teacher and I am proud to say he played an important role in my high school education! He was also instrumental in my getting hired by the Royal Bank in Stettler and I enjoy a career with RBC for 38 years.
He was a kind and caring man who always had a smile and kind word and never forgot a former student or neighbour.
When we moved back to Stettler we were fortunate to have Al as a neighbour and looked forward to visits when he went for his daily walk.
He will be missed by the entire community he served for so many years in so many different capacities!
A truly great man!

Truly a gentle man as there ever was. I fondly remember the chats he and I and my father Leo, who passed away a few days before Al, had weekly at local breakfast spots or at Brenda's Cozy Cafe Friday nights.

I have spent many years working with Al on the East Central Alberta Heritage Society. He was always ready to volunteer in any capacity he was physically able to help. He seldom missed a meeting and his input was welcome. I am proud to have known him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Al was always a kind caring man. He aged so gracefully over the years. He never missed an opportunity to stop and take the time for a visit. We knew him as a committed community supporter. As the years passed it took him longer to get someplace as his strides got shorter but he kept going. Al was a true gentleman and we will miss him.

Our deepest sympathy in the loss of Al. He was such a kind, compassionate, endearing gentleman who took an interest in everyone, always wishing them well. He never missed an opportunity to enquire how our children and grandchildren were doing. He was a joy to work with at Variety Showcase and his love of music and concerts was contagious. He will be missed but we trust he is now with Verna and at Peace with the Lord. We celebrate his life in our memories, knowing it was a life where God says " Welcome home, Good and Faithful Servant.

Al and Verna were a special gift to our family. We arrived in Canada in 1967 and were immediately surrounded by the best friends anyone could hope for and they were a part of that “crowd”. So many good times, crazy parties, lots of laughter, and we cried together too. Rest In Peace my dear friend.
