Oh my beautiful birthday twin. How I shall miss you. You always made me laugh, you always fed me well, and like Sharon, I too have cried in your welcoming bosom. I am so very grateful that you were a part of my life and welcomed me, my son, Mark, my Mexican and other host children into your home and your life. I am so sorry to hear about Rita’s passing. I always loved our visits at Walmart where we discussed our daughters and their travels. She was so very proud of both you kids. I am very glad we were able to have a short visit with her and Kiah a few weeks ago.

Dear Roe, Zack & Kiah
Oh dear friends - Our hearts go out to you all in love & sympathy. Rita was a ray of sunshine wherever one had the honor of seeing her. She had such a beautiful warmth to her inside & out of caring & love to us all. Stettler feels that someone so awesome would be taken from us so suddenly is so very painful.
I remember our Lace Club Days together having coffee with all those beautiful ladies while raising our children. I remember the delicious Pampered Chef cooking Rita made. I so wish I could cook like our beautiful Rita. I remember the feeling in Walmart when I saw her, it was like she cared for us all with her beautiful smile and words!

Dear Uncle Roland, Zach, and Kiah.
Aunty Rita was a gem, and she will be missed sooo much. I know that anyone who knew her is holding a very heavy heart, because she was such a lovely person, and knowing that she isn't physically here anymore is just very painful to imagine. I have such warm memories of having great days spent at with Aunty Rita and Uncle Roland at their cool condo in Edmonton.. and then their beautiful home in Stettler. I remember fun family parties at Aunty Lynn and Uncle Lloyd's ... and good music, good food, laughter and love encircled all of us. I will always remember those happy times. I remember aunty Rita and Uncle Roland as being hip, hipsters (even before hipsters were a thing!) they both always had great style and a definitive coolness about them. I can still see Aunty Rita's smile and almost hear her laughter. Her warm sprit will shine bright forever. Much love to her whole family, and anyone that was lucky enough to know her. I am shocked and saddened to learn about this today. I worked many shifts with Rita and she always greeted me with a big smile and hello. We shared many laughs and chocolate on our shifts and the time always past by quickly when we worked together. Roe, kiah, and Zach, I can't tell you how much my heart aches for your loss. Your wife and mum had a huge, warm and kind heart and the world will be a little sadder for her loss. She always had time to help someone in need and her hospitality was limitless. Cinnamon buns will always remind me of wonderful times in her kitchen.

Words cannot express the thoughts and feelings that are running through my brain. Our deepest sympathy’s go out to D and the kids! Rita was an amazing woman who made sure you knew where you stood, whether good or bad! I remember one day walking into Walmart and Rita asked me what it would cost her to get me to make someone’s day miserable, I told her “for you darlin I’d do it for a smile!” After that every time I seen her she would smile and tell me “she was banking them for when she needed them!” Our son loved seeing Rita and would always try to get to her till.
