Obituary of Gary Shepherd

Gary Shepherd

September 16, 1959 – February 4, 2022

Gary was born to parents, Dave and Hulda Shepherd on September 16, 1959.  He attended school and worked his entire life in the Stettler area.  Over the years, Gary worked for numerous companies in all industries but was mainly involved with the trucking industry.  He was known for his ability to fix anything. Hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, photography, woodworking/up cycling, curling, and playing slow pitch.  He excelled at smoking and BBQing all types of foods to share with his family.

Being involved with 4-H as a parent and grandparent, Gary was known as the “Papa-razzi.”

Gary is survived by his wife of 39 years, Christa (Bess) Shepherd; daughter Amanda Shepherd (Tim Omilusik); granddaughter Deanna Omilusik; brothers Kevin (Lou Ann) Shepherd and Randy (Lorrie) Shepherd; sister Chris (Jim) Church; brothers-in-law Greg (Vivian) Finlay and Kim Finlay; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many dear friends. 

Gary was predeceased by his parents Dave and Hulda Shepherd; brothers Alan, Don, and David Shepherd and sister-in-law Leigh Shepherd.

Gary will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Gary passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2022, near Grande Prairie, Alberta.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Ol' MacDonald's Resort on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 3:00 P.M.
