Obituary of Barbara Ann Gardner
Barbara Ann Gardner
It’s with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Barbara Ann Gardner on April 18, 2022.
Barb was born August 30, 1948 to Don and Pearl Volker in Erskine Alberta. Barb was the fifth daughter in a family of seven. Barb attended school in Erskine. She met the love of her life Stan Gardner and they were married September 12, 1964. They welcomed their first child Leigh Ann on March 25, 1965. Timothy was born April 7, 1966 and sadly passed away April 9, 1966. Donald Hugh completed the family on August 24, 1967.
Summers were spent camping all over Alberta and BC. Winters were spent snowmobiling. Barb loved curling, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards. She always had a great joke to tell and was the life of the party. Her family and all get togethers meant the world to Barb. She will be forever remembered for her acting abilities at the Erskine Ladies Bonspiel’s. She nailed Reta McNeill.
Barb loved watching her grand children and then great grandchildren in all their extra curricular activities.
Barb is survived by her daughter Leigh (Gary) Rairdan of White Sands; son Don (Nan) Gardner of Erskine; five grandchildren: Crystal (Del), Kari (Chad), Kyle, Amanda (Cody), and Tim (Maddie); eight great-grandchildren: Dexter, Dalyce, Hailey, Dayton, Jett, Alivea, Annabelle, and Walker; sisters Carole Barclay, Bev (Gordon) Bauman, Elaine (Bob) Cornelssen, Brenda (Dave) Reinbold, and baby brother Allyn (Wendy) Volker; brother-in-law Gordon (Adrienne) Gardner. Barb was predeceased by her husband Stanley, infant son Timothy, parents Don and Pearl Volker, and sister Marlene Bauman.
A funeral service will be held on Friday April 22, 2022 at 2pm at the Stettler Funeral Home. There will be a link to the service on the Stettler Funeral Home Website at a later time.
Donations can be made in her memory to STARS or Ronald McDonald House or a charity of one’s choice.
Barb’s infectious bubbly personality will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
