Obituary of Helen Ambury
AMBURY, HELEN ROSE (Née MELNYCHYN)
June 16, 1942 - May 23, 2022
Our world has become a sadder place with the sudden passing of our one and only Mom, Grandma, forever teacher and world class pyrohy maker on May 23, 2022 at Heritage House in Stettler.
Helen was many different things to many different people but she will be most fondly remembered as someone who would always find the time to share a kind word of encouragement wherever she was. Whether you were fortunate enough to be one of her Grade One students, stocking shelves in a grocery store, or in the end, providing her care and comfort, she would always take the time to make you feel like you were special and mattered. The world can be a tough place, but she did what she could to make it a little bit kinder while she was with us. It was our honour to share her with you all.
Helen is survived by her daughters Carey Ryan, Jackie (Cal) Caldwell and son Mark (Linda) Ambury; grandchildren Mackenzie Ryan, Patrick Ryan, Taylor Caldwell, Brianna Caldwell, Amanda (Jason) Harbour and Christyna (Rob) Bouliane; great grandchildren Sarah, Owen, Nicola and Aubrey; stepsister Rose (John) Grant, sisters-in-law Linda (Gordon) Nielsen and Lorraine (Eric) Anderson; brother-in-law Rudy Storek; as well as countless nieces, nephews other relatives many dear friends and former students.
Helen was predeceased by the love her life, husband Larry; grandsons Ryan twin baby boys and Landon Caldwell.
We welcome you to join us in celebrating Helen’s life at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 25 at the Stettler Funeral Home. Of course, anyone who knew Helen knows that if you stopped by for a visit there was not a chance that you were leaving hungry, and this visit will be no exception. Please let Helen fix you one last plate by joining us for a light luncheon in the adjoining hall following the celebration. There will also be a microphone set up where we encourage anyone to share any memories or anecdotes from your time with Helen that you wish to share.
