Karen was a wonderful across-the-alley neighbour and friend.
In the warmer months, Karen would often appear at the back gate with a call of, “How’s it going?” where we would share a few laughs and some friendly chitchat. She knew, or was related to, practically everyone in the area, and was always ready to share stories and news. She made it a point to know all the children and pets in the neighbourhood, and when there wasn’t a human outdoors to visit with, she would call out a hello to our dogs, and ask after their health!
Karen was extremely kind and I never heard her say an unkind word about anyone. She was outgoing and generous with her affection, loved to laugh, and cherished her family, and her cats (who were family to her), and her friends. Karen will be greatly missed in the neighbourhood.
Neil and I send our deepest condolences to Ken, Judy, and their families, as well as to all of Karen’s other relations and friends who will miss her loving presence in their lives.
