I always thought of my uncle Curt as a fun uncle. He was such a constant reliable source of support information and jovial ribbing. It’s no wonder he was known as a baby whisperer, always calm and collected. I still remember showing him my loose tooth at my cousin Bonnie’s wedding. He said ‘ well I can fix that for you’ and he did just that. Next thing I knew my tooth was tied to a door, the door slammed shut and out pops my tooth. I thought it was the coolest thing and then I got to run around the wedding showing off my new smile. We love and will miss uncle Curt so much. Love Lacey

My Uncle Curt was an incredible guy with an even better sense of humour. He was full of love and pride for his family and community. I remember knowing from a very young age that he was someone you could count on. I remember one of the first times he met my first born he rocked him like he was his own. Like he would have protected my son at all costs, and here is the thing, he absolutely would have. He was a man that took care of everyone around him.
Uncle Curt you will be missed by so many. Love Lexi

Our mememory of Curt goes back a long way to when we were farm neighbours and friends. Curt and Donna are our girls God parents and this Curt used as a joke to humor anyone who was in Home Hardware..if our girls were in the store he would introduce them as his daughters and then walk away with a grin and of course no further explanation!! He also did if I was there by introducing me to people as the mother of his daughters, leaving them with a very puzzled look on their faces!! Curt was a huge community man! There was nothing that Curt could not or would not do to contribute to his community!! He was handy at everything and if it needed fixing Curt was there to help! He was on the Fire department, Lions, Town Council, church board to name a few!! You will be so missed by all who knew you Curt and especially family! May God Bless and cherish our memories to get through this time of loss!!

My deepest Condolences to Donna and Family.
I enjoyed working with Curt and Donna for many years at their Home Hardware as their Area Manager.
I shared many a coffee across Curt's desk and solved many of the world's problem.
Committee updates were favorite topic and Curt aways seemed to have a community project on the go.
He will be greatly missed.

Our hearts are broken, we have very fond memories working with Curt over the years. Curt loved to give Dean and I a hard time, he had such a wonderful sense of humor, and we will miss seeing his face.
Sending love to the family.

Donna, Craig, Jeff and families. What does one say about someone like Curt? He was certainly a pillar of the community of Alix. He could figure anything out, was quick witted and positive. He always had time for a quick hello, always busy doing something. He truly spent his life making Alix a good place to be. We will miss seeing his smiling face. My most sincere condolences, and for a man as busy, happy and healthy as he was, gone way too soon.

For many years it has been my habit, on my annual trip to plant flowers at the cemetery, to swing through Alix and try to catch up with Curt Peterson. We would have a quick visit, catch up on the happenings of our generation, and carry on for the next year. We first met in Miss Jones' grade one class and he had long been my connection to the place where we both grew up. I am going to miss him. My condolences to Donna and rest of his family.

I am so sorry to hear of Curt's passing. I remember him when he was a little guy and being with his Dad; there were always good conversations going and he always liked to add about the farm and machinery and what was happening in the town of Alix. Anytime I went back to Alix, it seemed we met somewhere and had a little talk about the latest happenings around town. I always remember if anyone needed a little help, Curt was there. He was a great Alix guy. Ron Anders

Heartbreaking news to hear. An incredible boss, friend, and community member gone way too soon. Someone who always was willing to lend a hand and give his all to this community, Alix won’t be the same without him. Curt always attended every community and school event that I can ever remember, from my pre school days to walking across the stage of my final year. Working for him at his Home Hardware was one of my favourite job experiences, as his daily jokes and personality were the light of my days. He taught me so many important life skills that I will cherish forever. I’ll miss seeing this smiling face around town and him always bugging me about becoming a schoolmarm… Rest easy Curt, hope the golf courses are just as beautiful up there.
My sincerest condolences to Donna and all of Curt’s family. - Talayna Gartner

Many of my fondest childhood memories included the Peterson family - from family outings and get togethers to ski trips and fertilizer parties, Curt was always known for good times and jokes (even the teasing ones when he'd ask my sister and I how us 'boys' were!). Years later, I had the pleasure of joining the Rouse family. Curt's legacy of fun-loving, hard-working, community-minded, entrepreneurial spirit lives on in Craig and Jeff and their families. Wishing the the Peterson family comfort and peace.

Curt was one of the most community minded people we have ever known. When Kelsey and I moved back to Alix when our kids were 3&4 he made mention how important it was for families to come to Alix and raise their kids, not only for the families but for the vitality and longevity of the community and school.
He was always willing to help; from bringing the the Home Hardware barbecues to events, to him and Donna chairing and organizing, or even just showing up to support. He was always willing to take the time to stop and have a quick chat and make a joke of some kind.
Kelsey remembers working for him at Gator gas in the 90’s and he always was ready to teach along with joking around.
Josh enjoyed volunteering with Curt on the fire department, Curt often worked traffic with Josh and was an excellent mentor.
We will miss seeing his smiling face. Our condolences to Donna, Craig (Jenny) and Jeff (Mandi) and their children. May your good memories of Curt give you comfort during this difficult time.

Curt was so kind and willing to help others whenever he could. This past summer our boat broke down near his house and when we called to see if he was home and able to help us out he let us know that he was out at the golf course but did not hesitate for a moment before coming to tow us to the boat launch. His generosity and community mindedness will always be remembered. Kevin & Krista Clark ❤️

No words of mine can describe the feelings of loss I, and many in and around Alix are experiencing right now.
A gentleman who always stepped up to volunteer and help without ever being asked. Curt was the first guy i talked to if i needed information on a wide range of things be it hardware related, history, Lions club, Museum, Golf course politics etc. While we didn’t always agree, I valued and respected his insight and ideas.
A man who always focused on family, friends, and community certainly won’t be replaced. Thanks for everything you did for all of us Curt. Your many attributes were greatly appreciated and didn’t go unnoticed. I know his loss will be hard for many, me and my family included . I do take solace in that he has taken his talents to another place where I’m sure God will be putting him to work.
Thanks again for everything you did for all of us Curt. Your passion, humour, and kindness will be missed. To your family, my heartfelt condolences. RIP my friend. Until we meet again.
