Obituary of Colleen Audrey Kinakin

Colleen Audrey Kinakin (Evans) was called Home to Heaven on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 with loved ones at her side.

Colleen was born in Coronation, Alberta on February 21st, 1961, the eldest of four daughters born to Esther and Tom Evans.  She loved each one of her sisters dearly and made many fond memories with them.

On August 1st, 1998, Colleen married Dan Kinakin, father of Tanis and Maralee. She was a loving wife and caring parent.  Many memories were made over the years with family vacations, motorcycle trips, and special celebrations.

Colleen’s pride and joy was being “nana” to six grandchildren.  She could often be found playing outside, building snow forts, doing a craft or baking in the kitchen with them.  Each grandchild had a special and unique relationship with Colleen.

Coronation was always home to Colleen.  She invested her time into the Coronation Evangelical Free Church, especially the kids and youth programs.  Colleen also served many people over her 43 years working at the TD Bank.  She recently retired at the end of April 2023.

Colleen treated everyone she knew and those she had just met with the utmost love and kindness.  She will be greatly missed.

Colleen will be sadly missed and is survived by her loving family, husband Dan Kinakin; daughters Tanis (Barry) Lindmark and Maralee Kinakin; grandchildren: Nash, Bo, Renn, Jayde, Kaiden, and Elly; mother Esther Evans; sisters Margaret Evans, Angie Evans, and Barbie (Lyle) Berg; parents in law Marlene and Russell Kinakin; brother in law Terry (Lisa) Kinakin; sister in law Krista (Tom) Waterhouse; numerous, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends, neighbours and associates.  Colleen was predeceased by her father Tom Evans, and cousin Trevor Jones.
