Quinten started as my coworker, but became my closest friend.
He was a brat, and one of the only people sassy enough to match me.
We had a lot of different beliefs and views, which made for excellent debates. Even when we would frustrate each other it was always fun to debate random topics. From religion to Marvel characters he always had a strong opinion, and I always loved hearing them, even though I thought he was wrong, I admired the way he thought about things, and how he was never scared to voice his perspectives. Whenever we ran out of things we disagreed on we'd fight about things we shared the same views on, just for fun. I loved having someone who could pick a fight and still be your best friend immediately after.
If we weren't debating we were nerding out about something or another, probably loud enough that everyone in the building could hear us. But we really didn't care. I never felt embarrassed when he was around because he always made me feel understood. He was like that for a lot of people.
There's a lot of things that are hard to talk about in life, emotions that are hard to express, and problems that seem impossible to overcome. But Quinten was always there to help, even if he would just lock you in the freezer and tell you to scream until you felt better, or tell you that you're a nerd for thinking about it so much, he always understood and somehow made it feel like no big deal.
I miss having a friend to challenge my point of view, and I miss having a friend I could tell anything to.
I miss you Quinten, you were my best friend, I just wish I could've been a better friend to you

Quinten was the kindest most compassionate soul I've ever met. He always made me smile and was always such a great friend. I've always had and will continue to have so much love for him. He was the glue that held us all together growing up.

I’d seen Quinten around before, and I knew who he was, but I’ll never forget the first day I really met him. His brother and my son were playing baseball together, it was a warm sunny day and my family and I were walking up to a crowd of onlookers along the fence line, Quinten was sitting up on a chair in the box of a truck. I heard him before I saw him, he was educating those around him on the quality of the performance of some players. As he saw it. He was doing it in the colourful language that I came to know as his, unique, just as he was. I laughed then and in every encounter I had with Quinten thereafter. If I saw he was at a game, I would smile immediately, as I knew I was in for some of his very own analysis, as only he could tell it. I really enjoyed him, his character, his humour and attitude. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
