Obituary of Robert Roy Stull
Robert (Bob) Roy Stull
March 25, 1942 - April 28, 2024
It is with profound sadness that the family of Bob Stull announces his passing on April 28, 2024. Born in Calgary to Percy and Grace Stull, he was brought home to the family farm east of Balzac, where he formed cherished memories of his childhood.
Bob's early years were spent attending the Butte School, a one-room schoolhouse where he relished riding his horse to and from school and engaging in spirited games of baseball with his classmates. His deep love for the farm was evident from a young age, and he carried this passion with him throughout his life.
Although circumstances led the family to move into Calgary, Bob's connection to farming remained unwavering. He attended King Edward School and though his formal education was brief, he maintained a lifelong commitment to learning.
In 1960, Bob met Kathy Keim, a farm girl from Acme, and they were married in February of 1961.Together, they shared a love for agriculture and built a life centered around their shared values and dreams. They were blessed with three children: Cindy, Robbie, and Jeff.
While in Calgary Bob's career was deeply intertwined with agriculture, owning and operating a successful grain trucking business in southern Alberta. In 1980, he and Kathy realized their dream of owning their own land northwest of Red Willow, where they built a home and established a thriving farm.
A dedicated member of the community, Bob worked for Pioneer Grain at the elevator in Gadsby and later found joy in restoring antique tractors and participating in tractor pulls. He was an active member of the Antique Tractor Club in Stettler for many years.
In addition to his farming endeavors, Bob drove school bus for Clearview School Division, forming close bonds with the staff and students of Donalda School. After Kathy's passing, the school community
became his second family.
Bob is survived by his daughters Cindy (Ken) Balderson and Robbie (Graham) Peterson; son Jeff (Greg) Stull; grandchildren Darcie and Dan Balderson, Whittney (Ryan) Hansen and Lindy (Zach) Quinlan; great-grandchildren Dominic, Hayley, Dean and Brandtly; sisters-in-law Della Keim, Linda (Bruce) Hollingshead, Ella Keim, Betty Rowan and Elizabeth Keim; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Kathy; sister Gaye (Don) Ogg; brothers-in-law Bill, Bob, Ken and Dan Keim.
Bob will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his love for farming, and his generous spirit that touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at the Stettler Funeral Home, Stettler, Alberta on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 1:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to STARS, Red Willow Cemetery, or a charity of your choice.
