I have some very fond memories of Aunty Mary. The best ones being the holidays we had up on her farm on the Isle of Skye. I remember the turn off from the road and the excitement that started building at this point, seeing the coastline out the window, knowing that it wasn't much further down the single track road. We would turn in and open the gate into the farm and go running to give Aunty Mary big hugs! I loved the farm cottage. I remember the steep narrow stairs up to our room, the old brown bathtub and Smokey the tomcat that Mum insisted on calling Marmalade because of his very fluffy ginger coat. I always loved spending time on the farm, what young kid doesn't like farms and farm animals! The best bit was collecting all the eggs each day. Aunty Mary would always point to a couple of chickens and tell us "this one is called Duncan, and this one is called Jaki". We were always so pleased to have them named after us. We would also help feed the baby lambs that had been rejected...and I think I remember these lambs being in her house too :-) Not to mention Bertie and Gertie the geese. These guys always scared me a little bit they were part of the experience too. Fast forward a few years to 2011, Aunty Mary, John, Chris & Rene came to Scotland and the extended family were reunited for a wedding. It had been many years since everyone had last come together so it made for a very entertaining night. Shortly after that Alex and I moved to New Zealand, which made it rather hard to get anywhere and visit family. However, I was lucky enough to be able to pop over to Canada 5 years ago and spend some time with Aunty Mary and the rest of the family too. I wish it had been for longer though, and I wish I had been able to visit again since then. I love you very much Aunty Mary and you will be dearly missed by all. I have so many happy memories that I will cherish. Please give my wee Rebecca a big cuddle for me up in heaven. Jaki xxx

I will cherish the memories I have made with my big sister, Mary. From beach days, to ‘But an Ben’ days in Rosehearty and Peathill, New Aberdour to Castor to name a few. My love and hugs to the family, as we cannot be there. Another star shines brightly in the night sky…a sister, sister in law and wonderful Aunt, taken too soon. Our hearts are truly broken. Much love Edwina, Hugh, Duncan and Jaki. Xxx
