Obituary of Brian Leslie McBride

Brian McBride "McB" passed away peacefully at Stettler Hospital on May.26,2024 at the age of 62 years.

Brian was born in Stettler Alberta to Mr. and Mrs. Leslie McBride on Feb.7,1962. At the time of Brian's birth they resided on a farm 18miles west of Big Valley. He moved with his parents to Stettler during his grade 1 term, graduating from William E. Hay High-school in 1980. In Brians early years mom inrolled him in music classes playing accordian (winning 1st place in a competition in Edmonton) and eventually saxophone (who would of thought) In junior high and high-school Brian played football and hockey and had a great love for the game however after sustaining multiple knee injuries it was time to hang up the skates and cleats.

Brian basically worked the majority of his life in the oil and gas industry until he started his own hotshot company in 2019.

Brian ventured out of Stettler, and found travelling was his second desire after of course watching the Calgary Flames and or the Calgary Stampeders. His travels took him to Mexico multiple times, Amsterdam, his favorite Ireland and most recently Costa Rica.

He filled his days watching hockey and football, golfing and backyard visits in the man cave with his friends and family.

Brian is survived by his daughter Taryn (Dan) Solhaug; two granddaughters Kendra and Katelyn Solhaug; siblings Genevieve Leier, Nelson (Cherylanne) McBride and Dianne Bradley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Brian was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Marguerite McBride and his grand nephew Kale Lewis Williams.
