Obituary of Eileen Isabell Tschritter
Eileen Isabell Tschritter
1931 – 2024
Eileen Tschritter, born on May 31, 1931, in the Killam area to Samuel Caruth and Dorothy (Reist), led a life filled with love, warmth, and cherished memories. She passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024, in Stettler, Alberta, at the age of 93.
As a young girl, Eileen attended Poplar Park School in Killam, where she completed grades 1-9. She had a passion for horses, with her favorite being "Bunny," whom she rode to school and proudly entered in fairs. In her early career, Eileen worked briefly at the Killam Cafe before finding her calling as a ward aid at Galahad Hospital, where she was esteemed by all who knew her.
Eileen's life changed when she caught the eye of a young farmer at a Halloween dance. She married Ivan Tschritter and became a dedicated farmer's wife. Together, they moved to Castor for a year before settling in Stettler.
Eileen was renowned for her culinary skills, especially her delicious fried chicken and chocolate cakes. She put her talents to good use at the Stettler Legion and as a devoted stay-at-home mom. In retirement, Eileen enjoyed activities such as floor curling, bowling, and bingo. She and Ivan developed a passion for camping, and Eileen found joy in gardening, cultivating vibrant flowers and a bountiful garden.
Above all, Eileen cherished her role as a grandmother. She adored caring for her grandchildren, fondly remembered for making them her famous pancakes before sending them off to school.
Eileen is survived by her beloved children: Greg (Sylvia) Tschritter, Danny (Debbie) Tschritter, and Angie (Lorne) Dickson. She was a cherished grandmother to Todd Tschritter, Letitia (Darren) Bossomworth, Benjamin Tschritter, Sara Tschritter, Callie (Ryley) Anderson, and Tyler (Caitlyn) Dickson. Eileen also adored her great-grandchildren: Liberty (Jackson Zimmerman) Tschritter, Declan Tschritter, Farrah Bossomworth, Charlie Anderson, Zachary Dickson, and Kane Dickson. She is survived by her sister, Lillian (Dennis) Christensen and remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Eileen was predeceased by her loving husband Ivan; parents Tim and Dorothy Caruth; daughter-in-law Marianne; brother Ken; and sisters Shirley and Dorothy.
Eileen will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with her family. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
