Gladys Annie Gillespie of Stettler, Alberta, passed away suddenly, after a lengthy illness at the Stettler Hospital & Care Centre, Stettler, Alberta on December 15, 2024, at the age of 87 years.
Gladys was born in Erskine, Alberta on February 10.1937 to James Allan and Elsie (Eichhorn) Gillespie the fourth of seven children.
She took all her schooling in Stettler. She worked at AGT in Stettler for several years before taking a Secretarial course at Henderson Business School. Gladys lived in so many places across Canada as her husband was employed in the oil industry. After the breakup of the marriage, she became a free spirit for a few years. Following this she settled in Edmonton and went to work for the provincial government. After retirement she moved back to Stettler to be closer to family, settling in Paragon Place.
Gladys was predeceased by her parents James and Elsie Gillespie; brothers: Grant, Duncan and Jim and sister Mary; brother-in-law Ron Winn; sisters-in-law Melba and Doris.
Gladys is survived by her brothers Don (Carol) Gillespie and Wilf Gillespie; sister-in-law Helen Gillespie; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends.
