Although we hadn't known each other long, Merrill-Lee and I became fast friends. She was an animal lover and that is how we met. A loose dog that I was trying to catch in the alley behind her house in Castor. She asked if that was my dog and that was the start of a friendship that I will always treasure. I was able to snuggle a little puppy in to see her a few days before she passed. She smiled and snuggled that sweet little orphan and became very calm and peaceful. That's a memory and a picture I'll always remember. Until we meet again my friend, every puppy I foster will make me think of you.
